Welcome to The Village of Annawan, Illinois

The Village of Annawan, a community of approximately 900 residents, is located at the intersections of Illinois Rt. 6 and Illinois Rt. 78 and adjacent to Interstate 80.  The Iowa Interstate Railroad provides service to the Village and Amtrak service is currently available near by in Kewanee or in Galesburg.  Located just 35 miles east of Moline, Illinois, and the Quad City International Airport, our family-oriented community offers the advantages and conveniences of living near the Quad Cities metropolitan area plus the peacefulness and safety of small town Illinois.  We have an excellent school system and a wide variety of recreational opportunities in the area.

Recycling and Reuse Act

The new and improved electronic Recycling and Reuse Act becomes effective January 1, 2012.  This new Illinois law bans the trashing of old electronics.  Therefore, the Village of Annawan will no longer pick up electronics placed with or in your trash.

 

Announcements

Solicitors must obtain a permit from the Annawan Police or the Village Office for door-to-door solicitation.  Solicitation can only occur between 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.  If  the solicitor does not have a permit or you have concerns, call the Annawan Police at 309.935.6250, or the Henry County Sheriff at 309.937.3911, or 911.

  
 

Building Permits

The Village of Annawan requires homeowners to obtain a building permit for any alternations to their homes.  This includes room additions, decks, siding, roofs, or other structures.  The permit for inspection must be made 24 hours in advance.  Contact the zoning chairman, Terry Rosebeck (935-6681), before you begin.
