April 25, 2009                                                                                      Special meeting

A special meeting was held with Mayor Franks, Trustees Sturtewagen, Gustafson, Curran, DeRycke, Fulton, and VanKerrebroeck present. Also present at the meeting was incoming Trustee Brent Heitzler.

Bids were opened in Springfield on April 24, 2009 for the construction of Progress Parkway. Mayor Franks reported on the bids. Bids were received from Foley Construction Company, Davenport, Iowa, for $3,749,187.00; Laverdiere Construction, Inc, Macomb, Illinois for $3,683,192.84; Brandt Construction, Milan, Illinois, for $3,105,289.52; and Valley Construction Co, Rock Island, Illinois for $3,172,152.69.

Marti Ahlgren, of Shive-Hattery, was on the conference call phone to answer any questions that board members had. She pointed out that the bid as it stands now includes extending the water and sewer lines to the former Millie Loncka farm. Board members had wanted to extend the lines to 2900E. Mayor Franks called a special meeting to be held on Tuesday, April 25^th, to accept or reject the bids. Ahlgren will have an estimate of the cost for the water/sewer extension then.
