April 28, 2009 Special Meeting Mayor Franks called a special meeting to order with Sturtewagen, Gustafson, Curran, DeRycke, Fulton, and VanKerrebroeck present. Also present were incoming Trustee Brent Heitzler, Marti Ahlgren, and Mark Harpole (of Shive-Hattery). Marti was present to explain to board members the amount of federal funding available for the Progress Parkway project from the two grants the village received ($4,577,000.00and the village share of $480,000.00). Board members had hoped to run sewer lines alongside the new road all the way to 2900 E. Marti explained that the present contract only extends the sewer lines from Route 78 to the former Millie Loncka farm. A separate project will have to be designed so as not to lose any money from the federal grant. The estimate of the project is $490,000.00. More information will follow. DeRycke, seconded by Fulton, made a motion to accept the bid of $3,105,289.52 made by Brandt Construction, Milan, Illinois, for construction of Progress Parkway. A voice vote followed showing the motion carried unanimously. Julie DeSplinter Village Clerk
