Sanitation Department

The Village of Annawan picks up trash on Monday and Friday. You are encouraged to utilize the recycling program offered by Eagle Enterprises. The Village of Annawan sanitation department will pick up ONE bag or container of trash (this does not mean setting one bag on top of another). The rest MUST be tagged with a sticker that can be purchased at the Village Office and the Annawan Hometown Market. The stickers are $1.00 each. Yard Waste Pick-Up

The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency prohibits the dumping of yard waste (grass clippings, leaves, garden residue, and small twigs) at landfills. The Village of Annawan will pick up yard waste every Tuesday, April to November. All yard waste MUST be in yard waste bags purchased from The Village. Those bags are available at The Village Office and the Annawan Hometown Market. The bags are $1.00 a piece.

Curbside Recycling Program

Place all accepted recyclables in a recycle bin and place the bin on the curb by 7:00 a.m. on the pick-up day. Eagle Enterprises will provide bins and decals which can be picked up at the Village Office free of charge. If you wish to use a 32 gallon trash container with a decal you may. You may request a second recycling bin at no cost to you. If you have any questions, please call The Village of Annawan at (309) 935-6226.

Recycling collection is every other Friday unless there is a major holiday during the week, then collection will be Saturday. Major holidays are Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day.

Recycling and Reuse Act

The new and improved electronic Recycling and Reuse Act becomes effective January 1, 2012. This new Illinois law bans the trashing of old electronics. Therefore, the Village of Annawan will no longer pick up electronics placed with or in your trash. Henry County drop-off location for electronics is Eagle Enterprises, 501 SE Industrial Avenue, Galva - 309.932.2936.

E-Waste Disposal

Atkinson Township is holding an E-Waste collection every Saturday of each month from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Rock Island Road and Township Road. For more information call Atkinson Township Hall - 309.936.7117.
