Storm of 2008

As many of you are aware (painfully so in some situations), a strong storm swept through the area on Monday, July 21st causing all sorts of damage to the area.  Below are some photos of the damage that Annawan sustained.  If you have photos you would like to share, please feel free to email them to acedc@theinter.com  or if you would rather burn them to a CD, that would work s well.  A HUGE thank you to all who spent numerous hours getting the town back in shape.  While we lost many trees and sustained damage to several buildings and personal property, we were lucky to have not lost any of our citizens.  While the clean up has been stressful, we are all lucky to still be here - the most important thing of all.

Photo of the tree and brush debris lined up along the railroad. That pile has since been removed and burned.

The Railroad sign along the tracks.

Different angle of same location.

What is left of a tree at a residence home in Annawan.

Damage to a garage.

Adding MORE to the pile next to the railroad.

Still more to the pile.

And more!

Different angle.

Bricks that fell from the old bank building.

View of a street about an hour after the storm!

Yet another tree down, just missing wires.
