Annawan-Alba Fire Department |
|
The Annawan-Alba Fire Protection District was formed in 1945 as a tax supported organization. In 1945 a new fire station was built at the current site on W. Front Street next to the Village Hall. The Annawan-Alba Fire Protection District currently serves 72 square miles and provides Emergency Medical Services, Rescue and Fire Suppression. The district has 25 volunteers and has a board of trustees. The Fire Department has 2 ambulances, 2 engines, 1 tanker and a rescue truck. The Fire Protection District serves the village and the surrounding area. Often, the Annawan-Alba Fire Protection District is called to assist other local communities as well. When the emergency siren is activated, residents are asked to allow the responding volunteers the right of way. Responding volunteers are often identified by a flashing blue light located on their dashboard as well as four-way blinkers on their personal vehicle. The Annawan-Alba Fire Protection District also offers ambulance service. Anyone wishing to volunteer for the Annawan-Alba Fire Protection District should contact the Fire Chief, Lynn Neulieb.
